Introduction of Dry Enamel Powder Coating

The earliest enamel coating method recorded in history is the dry powder coating method of enamel powder, that is, the cloisonné method in the Byzantine period. Between 1800-1835, the world's first enamel factories using cast iron as the metal matrix appeared in Europe. At that time, cast iron enamel was coated with dry powder of enamel powder. Until the 20th century, a second dry powder coating method-electrostatic dry powder coating appeared.

Sanitary ware products are generally large in volume and quality, so the heat capacity is large, the heating temperature is slow, and it is not easy to cool. If the bottom glaze of large castings is wet-coated, it will take a long time to cool after each firing. It is a waste of working hours and energy, and it also takes up a large area of work space. Only "strike while the iron is hot" dusting is the most economical and applicable production method.

The powder coating of cast iron enamel is to first coat the workpiece with enamel base glaze slurry by dipping or spraying, and then enter the box-type firing furnace to fire after drying. The base glaze is burned to bright red and placed on a tiltable rotating bracket. For smaller products, one person can sprinkle enamel powder while the other person rotates the frame. For large bathtubs, one person sprinkles enamel powder and controls the rotation of the frame, and the other person supplies powder. The person cooperates to quickly and evenly screen the surface enamel powder on each surface of the workpiece that needs to be enamel (such as the bathtub only enamels the upper edge and the inner surface, and the outer surface does not need to be enamel). The rotation of the stand can be controlled electrically. The enamel powder can be screened manually, or a pneumatic or electric vibration device can be added to increase the powdering speed. Small pieces of red hot cast iron base glaze can be inserted (dipped) in the dry powder of top glaze enamel, rubbed and rolled, and some enamel powder can be added on the main enamel surface before entering the furnace. When the enamel powder comes into contact with the red hot cast iron base glaze, it begins to melt and adhere, and then it is fired in the furnace. Qualified products can be obtained by dusting and firing 2~3 times in this way.

How much manual dusting and enamelling, high dust concentration and high temperature at the work site. The skill of the duster is essential to ensure a uniform ceramic layer. Now these technologies have realized the automatic operation of computer programming, and the developed robot hand can imitate the manual action to dust the bathtub.
