Enamel products in modern application areas

Porcelain Enamel (also known as vitreous enamel or glass lining) is defined as a composite material formed by fusing mineral compounds, chemical materials, and non-ferrous metals at high temperatures (1100-1300°C), which is then applied to metal surfaces and fired at lower temperatures (600-880°C) through a series of specialized processes. The enamel frit belongs to the silicate-based inorganic chemical series. Common substrate materials include cast iron, steel plates, stainless steel, and aluminum panels. Historically, precious metals like gold, silver, and copper were used for inlay and filigree crafts. Modern enamel technology has expanded to ceramics, cement boards, and beyond.

As of 2025, public perception of enamel often remains limited to traditional daily-use enamelware. However, since China's 12th Five-Year Plan period, enamel as a novel composite material with unique properties, porcelain enamel has gained increasing recognition and adoption across multiple industries. It is widely used in home life, kitchen appliances, water supply and heating, sanitary ware, architectural decoration, environmental protection engineering, chemical medicine, medical equipment and other fields, and is constantly innovating and developing in the application.
